A National Call to Action Against Gerrymandering and the Silencing of Our Communities

“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are unfortunate and defenseless; Open your mouth, judge righteously, and administer justice for the afflicted and needy.”
Who Are the Queens?
We are the Linked Arms Queens:
Women who carry the weight of communities, families, and generations.
Matriarchs of change and midwives to justice.
Educators, child care providers, faith leaders, organizers, survivors, and strategists.
Where others pause, we proclaim. Where others whisper, we roar.
“Queens, Open Your Mouth!”
The Time Is Now, Queens
The State of Texas has launched yet another wave of strategic gerrymandering, redrawing political maps to strip Black, Brown, immigrant, and poor communities of their rightful voice in democracy.
This is not just a state issue.
This is not just a political moment.
This is a moral crisis.
This is a spiritual battle.
This is a call to action for every Queen.
Gerrymandering is being used as a political weapon to silence our voices, weaken our power, and erase our communities from the voting process.
What happens in Texas sets precedent across the nation. When injustice is legalized in one place, it is exported and replicated in others.
Gerrymandering is the spiritual equivalent of gagging the community. It is strategic voicelessness, and the Proverbs 31 Woman would never stand for it.
What Is Gerrymandering?
Gerrymandering is when voting district maps are manipulated to benefit the powerful while weakening the voice of the people; especially Black, Brown, immigrant, and working-class communities.
Two common gerrymandering tactics include:
Cracking: Splitting strong communities across multiple districts to dilute their voting power
Packing: Forcing all of a community’s votes into one district, limiting their broader impact
In both cases, it is a form of strategic silencing. It’s how politicians choose their voters instead of voters choosing their leaders.It’s injustice with a map and a pen.
In short, it redraws the map so the outcome is fixed before the people even vote.It is voter suppression in disguise; and it is happening right now in Texas and other states across the country.
Proverbs 31:8–9: The Scripture That Guides Us
God’s Word gives us no room to be silent:
“Open your mouth for the mute.” We must speak for those whose voices are ignored.
“Judge righteously.” We must act with integrity and moral clarity.
“Defend the rights of the poor and needy.” We must protect the dignity and democracy of our communities.
Gerrymandering directly opposes all three of these commands.
Our Queens Will Not Be Quiet
Linked Arms Queens are not political pawns. We are policy architects.
We are reclaiming the blueprint and redrawing maps of equity, healing, and hope.
We were never meant to be silent.
We were never meant to be erased.
We were born for such a time as this.
